Project Name:

Inference on Small Samples

Faculty Advisor:

Dr. John Kolasasa, Professor of Statistics and Director of Graduate Program

Project Description

The proposed research will apply a variety of mathematical techniques, including multivariate complex analysis and combinatorics, to open questions concerning inference for small samples. This inference includes standard frequentist techniques including the calculation of p-values and confidence intervals. Techniques from multivariate complex analysis will be used to approximate multivariate tail probabilities. Techniques that allow for increased power of conditional inference while retaining strict control of Type 1 error rates will be extended.
